Abstract : The anisotropy of a metal has been found to be a critical factor in deep-drawing operations. Further, it has been found that the anisotropy present in as-received metal can be accentuated or retarded to some degree by varying certain drawing parameters. Variation of each of these parameters produces a different effect on the anisotropic behavior of the material. In this study, the effect of total strain, strain rate, and material temperature on the anisotropy of H11 tool steel (5 percent Cr) are presented as evidence of this manifestation. (Author)
