Abstract : Results of sixty-one tests of hull-deckhouse interaction are presented and discussed. Tests were carried out on a static test machine, using a 42 ft. long longitudinally framed box girder with a 22 ft. long single level deckhouse. Deflections of hull and deckhouse were measured. Stress distributions along five transverse sections and along the deck to deckhouse joint were calculated from measured strains. Five bending moment distributions and seven deck support arrangements were used in the test program. The relative importance of bending moment distribution and deck stiffness on stress distribution is discussed. The experimental results are used to evaluate methods of analysis of hull-deckhouse interaction proposed by Schade and Kammerer. (Author)
