Abstract : The interaction between the boundary layer and the vortical layer on the aft portion of blunted bodies is investigated. It is assumed that the boundary layer thickness is much smaller than that of the vortical layer so that the boundary conditions at the common boundary can be provided by asymptotic matching of the two layers. The zero- and first order solutions for the outer and inner layer are established by numerical integration. The flow equations for the boundary layer are solved by finite-difference integration, while the solution for the vortical layer is established by the method of characteristics. (Author)
