Abstract : Tables for the thermodynamic properties for argon are presented which take into account the effect of dissociation and ionization and the limiting-law Debye-Huckel and second virial corrections upon the thermodynamic properties and the equilibrium compositions. Values are tabulated from 2400K in steps of 200K to 20,000K and from 20,000K in steps of 500K to 35,000K at conformation spacing in the 'log density/density at standard conditions' values. From 0.00001 to 10 to the 2-4th power x normal density the equilibrium composition is computed for six species: A, A(+), A(++), A(+++), A(++++), and E(-). The values tabulated include the compressibility factor Z = P x V/RT: the dimensionless functions for internal energy, E/RT: enthalpy, H/RT; entropy, S/R; log10 P (atm); and Z* = Sigma(Ci). The underlying equations and the input data are discussed briefly. The effects of the real-gas corrections on the equilibrium properties are illustrated graphically. The equilibrium composition is given for selected temperatures over the tabulated density range. The wide range of temperatures and densities over which the thermodynamic properties were tabulated make the tables useful in a variety of engineering design and test programs, and in scientific research and development.
