Abstract : Preliminary tests were made using the specified 11 mg Mylar particles with velocities of 40,000 to 60,000 ft/sec and 2024 aluminum bumpers and targets. The results indicate that a 5/32-inch bumper is required to stop the particle. A detailed description of the hypervelocity facility is given. (Author)
