Abstract : Additional data were obtained on the lanthanide-rhenium compounds and the space group of the Er2ReO5 type compound was determined. Work on the divalent oxide-Cr2O3-O system at high oxygen pressure continued. Work was started on the system MnO2-CrO2. Investigations were made on the Eu2O3-TiO2, Eu2O3-Ti2O3, and EuO-TiO joins in the Eu-Ti-O system. The A-phase was identified as a monoclinic Eu2TiO5. EuTiO3 is shown to have an extremely wide range of stability and is the only Eu(++) compound in much of the system. The join EuO-TiO is shown not to be binary and compositions along this join dissociate into EuTiO3 and a new oxygen-rich metal phase. (Author)
