Abstract : Tests were conducted to obtain data required for the evaluation of titanium alloy 6Al-6V-2Sn-4Zr. Tests were conducted on notched and unnotched tensile specimens at temperatures ranging from -321 F to +437 F. Notch radii were varied from 0.001 inch to 0.100 inch (Kt = 1.8 to 8). The results show that: (1) notch tensile strength may increase up to 275 percent as notch radius increases; (2) there exists an optimum notch radius; and (3) tensile and yield strengths decrease approximately 30 percent as temperature increases from -148 to +437 F.
