Abstract : The paper gives: (1) new selected area electron diffraction studies on iron oxide blade-like platelets, (2) evidence that the blade-like platelets consist of twinned oxide crystals of alpha-Fe2O3, and (3) a growth mechanism for blade-like oxide platelets on iron.
