Abstract : An infrared absorbance ratio method is used to quantitatively determine the phthalic anhydride content of baking enamels. This procedure is combined with an extension and revision of a previously reported absorbance ratio method so that simultaneously melamine formaldehyde and/or urea formaldehyde are determined. The infrared spectrum is obtained on a solvent free film of the isolated vehicle. (Author)
