Abstract : Calculations indicate that the value of sigma in shocks when M sub in is high and there is heat addition to the supersonic flow increase when the pressure of the incident flow decreases, although s increases in this case. Increase of coefficient of total pressure is explained on the basis of the socalled actionreversal condition. Graphs are employed to illustrate the dependence of change of s sub 2  s sub in and sigma k . sigma sub tau = p sub oz/p sub in on the flowdeviation angle omega in the 'oblique shock + heat addition' system, the dependence of the change of s sub 2  s sub in on the flowdeviation angle omega for the systems 'oblique shock + normal shock + heat addition,' and 'oblique shock + heat addition,' the dependence of the change of s sub 2  s sub in on omega for 'two oblique shocks + normal shock + heat addition' and 'two oblique shocks + heat addition,' the dependence of omega(opt) and M sub 2 on the change of s sub 1  s sub in caused by the various degree of intensity of heat addition in the 'oblique shock + heat addition' system, and the dependence of omega(opt) on M sub in in the 'oblique shock + heat addition system.
