Abstract : During this period the primary research activity has been in the form of aerial studies on the Mississippi outflow pattern into the Gulf of Mexico. Two flight missions have been made over this region using the specially configured NASA aircraft for multisensor measurements. In addition to discussing these, this report indicates other scheduled operations that could not be carried out due to either weather or non-availability of the aircraft. Project staffing, facilities and capabilities as well as projected research plans for the forthcoming year are outlined together with a consideration of arrangements whereby the utilization of remote sensors for oceanographic studies may be made effective.
