Abstract : Even though its bridge resistance may vary widely an electro-explosive device (EED) can be fired under nearly constant-power conditions using a special power supply. The supply should have a source impedance equal to the geometric mean of the EED's expected minimum and maximum resistance during firing. Electro-thermal parameter measurements and equations can be used to compute the optimum source impedance. Per cent regulation and error figures can also be computed. (Author)
