Abstract : A table of exact critical values of the information measure H is presented for the case of n observations in k equiprobable categories (2 < or = n < or = 15, 2 < or = k < or = 15). H is equivalent to the log likelihood-ratio criterion of goodness of fit. The significance levels given are: a < or = .200, .100, .050, .025, .010, .005, .001. Exact significance levels are presented for a < or = .050, and it is shown that the true significance levels of usual test (based on the chi square approximation to the distribution of the log likelihood-ratio) at the nominal .050 level exceed this value in 55 percent of the cases examined.
