Abstract : The problems of estimating the effectiveness of isolation mounts in reducing vibration are discussed. Massless spring-dashpot mounts, arbitrary two-terminal mounts having mass as well as stiffness and damping, and a special case of this second type, the continuous mount, are all treated. Curves, data, and formulas are presented for estimating the characteristics and effectiveness of both rubber and helical spring mounts. (Author)
