Abstract : The thermodynamic and composition data behind a Chapman-Jouguet detonation wave propagating into a mixture of stoichiometric oxygen-hydrogen diluted with helium and/or hydrogen are computed assuming thermodynamic equilibrium. Results are presented for hydrogen and helium dilutions respectively. The effects of initial conditions, namely dilution, pressure and temperature, are studied numerically and some approximate relations are provided for the purpose of practical interpolation. The study includes a comparison with the thermodynamic data of the final gaseous products of an equivalent constant volume combustion. The results are presented numerically and graphically for dilutions varying from 0 to 67 percent, initial pressures ranging from 0.01 to 1000 atmospheres and initial temperatures from 200 to 700 degrees Kelvin.
