Abstract : The research project began with problems of the perception of space, time, and motion, with attention to practical applications in aviation psychology. It has developed, however, into more general investigations of the nature of sensory information, the relations among the senses, the problem of memory, the theory of perception, and questions of epistemology. In vision, the classical assumptions about optics and the physiology of the eye have come into question and a number of new hypotheses purporting to hold for all senses are being tested. This report contains the following: (1) A bibliography of published articles, monographs, and books describing the results of the research project. (2) A list of translations that have been made, but not published, of experimental work relevant to the project. (3) A list of 16 mm silent motion picture films that have been made. (4) A statement of the basic problems that have been investigated and those that remain. (Author)
