Abstract : The purpose of the note is to discuss in an elementary way features of E-Delta E solid state detector telescope systems that are of practical interest. While it is true that a large body of literature has already been written on nuclear particle discrimination techniques using these systems, it is felt that this brief discussion will provide a handy reference guide to those who use them. Tables of values for stopping losses in silicon are included also. (Author)
