Abstract : The general outlines of the theory of homogeneous transonic flows are reviewed. Then it is shown how this theory may be applied to study of the singular behavior of a transonic flow close to a place where a shock meets a sonic line. Some examples are worked out in detail in order to show what kinds of singularities may arise in the midst of such flows. (Author)
