Abstract : The problem of the transmission of sound from a plane sound source into a scattering half-space is studied; numerical results are presented for the average sound intensity and current. The reflection of an incident plane wave, inclined at an arbitrary angle to a scattering half-space is considered; an expression for the reflection coefficient, including both the coherent and incoherent reflection of sound, is obtained. The foregoing results are then applied to sound propagation in a liquid containing a large number of small gas bubbles. (Author)
