Abstract : The electrochemical behavior of titanium and its alloys was studied in sulfuric acid media. Electronic potentiostatic anodic polarization techniques were employed. The anodic behavior of titanium was related to the parameters of temperature; acid concentration; chloride, iron, and copper additions to the electrolyte; yield strength level; microstructure of the alloy; and the use of passivating inhibitors.
