Abstract : As part of a program for elucidation of the process of formation of radioactive fallout, a method was developed for measuring the condensation rates of vaporized MoO3 onto liquid and solid oxide substrates in air at high temperatures. Rate measurements were made from 800 to 1500C and over a MoO3 partial pressure range of about 0.0000001 to 0.00004 atm. Substrates of a fused clay loam and a calcium ferrite were used in most of the measurements. Information was obtained concerning the rate-controlling steps in the condensation process. (Author)
