Abstract : A device for measuring the gradient of gravitational field designed in the form of a gradiometer with inert masses spaced as to height which has the distinguishing feature that for the purpose of using it in outer space for recording a nonuniform gravitational field close to celestial bodies, and also for measuring the magnitude and direction of little accelerations in the state of weightlessness, inert masses are enclosed in hermetically sealed capsules, restricting the limits of the shiftings and picking up the force load of the inert masses in the period when the device is being put into orbit, and are suspended on two springs arranged on one axis on both sides of the inert mass and rigidly fastened with balance beams, each of which is provided with a counterweight. A device in accordance with paragraph 1 which has the distinguishing feature that for the purpose of simplifying the mounting and adjusting the capsules are designed detachable and contain screw fixers for the position of the inert masses.
