Abstract : An in-flight study was conducted to determine the effect of four paint schemes, applied to the main rotor blades of UH-1D helicopters, upon helicopter conspicuity. Twenty-three observers made a total of 138 comparisons of paired aircraft. The preferred scheme incorporated white, red-orange fluorescent, and black paints. (Author)
