Abstract : The control of agricultural pests, diseases, and weeds by foreign and domestic fungicides was tested. The following fungicides were recommended: N-trichloromethylthiotetrahydrophthalamide, 2, 3-dichloro-naphthoquinone-1, 4-, mercurohexane (1% ethylmercurochloride, 20% hexachlorobenzene, 12% gamma isomer GKhTsG, and 67% filler), phthalane (the active part of N-trichloromethylthiophthalamide), copper oxychloride, zinc ethylenebisdithiocarbamate, and zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate. The aerosol method of chemical protection of plants is also considered. It guarantees even distribution of toxic chemicals over the surface of plants, increases the probability of poison getting onto the bodies of insects, reduces the expenditure norm of the working liquid and sharply increases the productivity of the apparatus. The aerosol apparatus, toxic chemicals, means of combatting orchard pests, extermination of insects in covered buildings, testing of field crops, and safety measures used with aerosol treatment are discussed.
