Abstract : The moments method, as outlined by Spencer and Fano, was used to calculate the differential angular energy distributions of gamma ray fluxes backscattered from semi-infinite media. A plane normal source is simulated in the calculation. The data in this report are specifically for the angular energy distributions of .662 MeV gamma rays from Cs137 backscattered from semi-infinite media of aluminum and iron. The angles of detection are 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, and 160 degrees. The data presented in tabular form. A graphical comparison is also shown between results from an albedo experiment and the moments method. All of the moments method data were obtained from a computer program developed at NRDL using moments generated at the National Bureau of Standards. (Author)
