Abstract : The results presented here were obtained in a systems analysis study. Here, analytical expressions are presented for such quantities as the probability of successfully supplying a random number of demands (or customers) with successfully functioning units drawn from a fixed supply of items which fail at random. The mathematical properties of the several functions considered useful are investigated in some detail. (Author)
