Abstract : A shock avoidance experiment was conducted in which the RNA from learning rats was labelled with orotic acid -5-H3; the RNA of nonlearning animals was not labelled. A successive competition DNA-RNA hybridization procedure indicated that unique RNA species were developed during this task. However, the experiment could not show that the unique species were specific for learning; the result may indicate only that these RNA species are involved generally in behaviour. (Author)
