Abstract : The paper discusses briefly what use is and can be made of linguistic concepts for the investigation of oral literature (OL). Three kinds of formal organization can be distinguished in an OL-item: textural structure, narrative structure, and dramatic structure (the features of the kinetic and musical presentation by the raconteur). The report concentrates on the structure of the plot of an OL-product.
