Abstract : A continuous temperature monitoring system was employed in rabbits which utilized a subcutaneously placed copper-constantan thermocouple attached to a direct drive recorder. It has the following advantages over the previous method of rectal temperature determinations. It was more reliable, less subject to environmental variations resulting from animal handling and substantially reduced the technician time required by the other method. (Author)
