Abstract : This report describes a method of applying special epoxy resin compounds on stable surfaces to obtain very flat (less than 0.0003-inch variation) smooth (1 to 2 microinch) surfaces over large areas (800 square feet). The technique is simple, quick, relatively inexpensive, and can be used on any area where such surfaces are required, including gas-bearing platforms and large surfaces for precision measurements.
