Abstract : The behavior of the solutions of a simplified form of the system of Vlasov-Poisson equations is studied. An external disturbance function is intended to simulate a confining magnetic field. A condition for the existence of continuously differentiable solutions is derived which has the form of an integral relation between the Poisson function and its derivative. The two cases of a given spatial distribution and a given velocity distribution are considered. (Author)
