Abstract : Spectra of bounded and unbounded water bodies are calculated on an asymptotic approximation based on smallness of the seabed slopes, which leads to a geometrical optics theory of surface waves. Attention is directed to two-dimensional and cylindrically symmetrical topographies corresponding respectively to laboratory channels and continental slopes and to islands. (Author)
