Abstract : After a short consideration of the phases and proton arrays of ice, the experimental facts on orientation polarization and conduction are summarized and the underlying molecular processes of intramolecular and intermolecular proton transfer identified. The new approach links dielectric relaxation spectroscopy to infrared spectroscopy. (Author)
