Abstract : As part of a general study of stresses and deformation of high altitude balloons, the present report deals with experiments conducted on polyethylene film samples subjected to uniaxial and biaxial loads as a preliminary step in establishing constitutive equations for polyethylene balloon film. The results are presented as creep curves for strain versus time at constant true stress. The characteristics of these graphs are then discussed. (Author)
