Abstract : This paper deals with a process of cloud droplet growth by repeated distillation in a mixture of cloud droplets and droplets containing a reagent that intensifies the absorption of short-wave radiation by these droplets. It is shown that a substantial growth of the cloud droplets occurs several tens of hours after modification, given favorable assumptions concerning the details of the process. The temperature increase inside the cloud due to the absorption of short-wave radiation is also determined. Before a substantial change in the droplet spectrum is achieved, the temperature increase results in the evaporation of a large part of the cloud's moisture. (Author)
