Abstract : The influence of a longitudinal magnetic field on convection heat transfer during turbulent flow of a conducting liquid in a pipe is studied, and an empirical formula for calculation of the heat transfer is subsequently offered. In general, at a constant Hartman number, the influence of the magnetic field decreases as the Reynolds and Peclet numbers increase. (Author)
