Abstract : The unadequacy of the currently used spherical model (Stromgren model) for the theoretical treatment of HII emission regions has been shown. This model neglects once the internal continuous opacity of HII atmospheres. The model disregards secondly the irregular cloudy structure of brighter HII regions. This irregular cloudy mass arrangement becomes evident as well from the irregular monochromatic surface structure of emission nebulae as also in the case of the Orion Nebula from the strongly varying radial velocities of the masses. The problem of the positions of the exciting stars of HII emission regions in the line of sight is also attacked. Exciting stars deeply involved within the bright and dense masses are certainly very rare. Investigated is also the often in HII fields observed positive correlation between the surface brightness in nebulae and the star denaity in the areas. This correlation appears very often, however, it does not represent a rule. This situation, the existence of such a correlation and its not rare violation is explained. (Author)
