Abstract : The relationship between high-latitude radio-star scintillation data and riometer ionospheric absorption is investigated. A lead/lag correlation analysis is made of the relationship between these geophysical data and solar data consisting of 10.7 cm radio flux, sunspots and flare index. A statistically significant modulation control is observed to exist between solar activity and the high-latitude absorption and angular scintillation data. The terrestrial data have a tendency to peak some 20 - 30 days following solar activity. (Author)
