Abstract : The experience of the past six years in the use of commercially available, variable-reluctance type pressure transducers is presented. The transducers are of the differential type with ranges of 2, 1, 0.5, 0.1, and 0.03 psid and used both at full range and 1/10 range for measuring pressures from 0.0005 to 2.0 psia. The transducers were used for single pressure measurements and combined with a selector valve for multiple pressure measurements, in both cases under various ambient conditions. Repeatability and hysteresis combined were within one per cent of full scale for 1/10 range calibrations. Response to a step function of pressure (from one model tap to the next) was the order of two minutes to a steady value when three feet of 0.047 ID tubing connected the model tap to the transducer.
