Abstract : This report presents results of an analysis of four years of stratospheric wind data for stations throughout the tropics at levels between 22 and 31 kms. A comparison is made between the periodicities inherent in the data for these four years (1962-1966) and those found in the data of an earlier period (1959-1962). Identification of stratospheric wind regimes for a series of latitudes at specific heights makes possible operational planning for considerable periods ahead. Results of the study are presented diagrammatically with a view toward facilitating the task of the operational planner. (Author)
