Abstract : The report represents an interim statement on the third phase of a study of Arab-Israeli conflict. Coding and keypunching of all documents for the 1956-57 period of the conflict were completed and content analysis was undertaken on the IBM 7090 computers. Alternate scalings of action data were undertaken and completed as a check upon earlier findings. Attention was primarily devoted to the following three areas: (1) improving the inter-judgmental reliability in the scaling of the action data, (2) development and modification of the theoretical model of the dynamics of mediated conflict, and (3) testing of the hypotheses in the model.
