Abstract : The method of Watt and Chrisp was adapted to the Technicon AutoAnalyzer for automated determination of monomethylhydrazine (MMH) in blood. The color developed in an acid medium in the presence of excess p-dimethylamino benzaldehyde (p-DAB) is measured at 480 millimicrons. The method was found to be accurate and reproducible in biologic samples for the range of 1 to 40 micrograms MMH/ml. Methods for the preparation of either blood, plasma, or red blood cells for the quantitative detection of MMH are presented. (Author)
