Abstract : A technique is given for reducing experimental Langmuir probe traces using the exact theory developed by Laframboise. The method yields charged particle number density and plasma potential taking full account of sheath effects, without the requirement for trial and error iteration. All necessary curves are given and the technique is applied to the reduction of experimental data taken in a DC glow discharge in argon in order to illustrate the method. (Author)
