Abstract : The report gives the computational processor and the results of a test on the interpolation of deflections from horizontal gravity gradients measured by means of a torsion balance. First, the theory of such an interpolation is given together with the description of the associated computer program. Next, the observed data is analyzed and variances are computed or estimated. Finally, interpolations are performed in single or multiple lines and with the results a detailed local geoid map is compared with the latest astrogeodetic geoid map of the US Army Map Service. The conclusion is that with the torsion balance deflections can be interpolated to accuracies of about 0.5 seconds for lines 30-40 km long. (Author)
