Abstract : Two different but converging avenues of study were used in the investigation of lower mental level personnel, i.e., personnel who scored in the 10th to 30th percentiles on the armed services qualification test. One studied the relative performance of lower mental level personnel presently in the hospital corps. The other was directed toward the identification of tasks and task clusters for possible job restructuring to permit the effective utilization of lower mental level personnel. (Author)
