Abstract : Approximate power series solutions to the linearized differential equations of motion are obtained in a rotating coordinate system with the origin moving on a ballistic trajectory of arbitrary eccentricity and through a central angle corresponding to the coast phase of a ballistic missile. The position propagation of injection velocity perturbations in the rotating system as determined by the first four terms of the series solutions is found to be sufficiently accurate to be utilized in preliminary design type analyses.
