Abstract : The probability of a correct answer, P(C), is not a valid index of sensitivity in the detection and localization (DAL) experiment although the DAL experiment is itself valuable. A table of d' exists for the DAL experiment with k=2. In the construction of the table, Gaussian distributions of the critical variable were assumed, but no assumption was necessary about the relative variance of noise-alone and of signal-plus-noise distributions.
