Abstract : The report contains a presentation of an analytical procedure for determining failure conditions of transversely loaded, initially crooked or eccentrically loaded columns. The procedure allows a large variety of end conditions and transverse supports. The physical basis for the analysis is given as well as its analytical formulation in matrix notation. Listings of IBM programs embodying the equations are also given along with results, which are compared with test data. (Author)
