Abstract : The work studies diffusion of chromium, iron, and tungsten in titanium and titanium-base alloys containing chromium and tungsten in the 700-1250 degrees temperature range. The conclusion is drawn that sintering of metallic powder of titanium is carried out in considerable measure by diffusion. Density of cermet titanium, sintered at different temperatures during assigned time, can be determined by calculating path according to coefficients of diffusion. It was determined that titanium differs from metals having approximately the same melting point in its high level of diffusion mobility. This peculiarity of titanium in definite degree is connected with the presence of phase transitions determining strong influence of structural factor on diffusion.
