Abstract : The solar constant has been measured by the use of Eppley normal incidence pyrheliometers on three different days at 31 kilometers altitude. After correcting the readings for the remaining 1% of the atmosphere, and the earth-sun distance, a value of 1.912 gm-cal sq cm/min has been determined for the solar constant. (Author)
